Have you considered using a WIKI for destination information? We all loved the old NW Boating because it had good descriptions of moorages and anchorages. You could build that content at your site by opening it up to boaters for their contributions. See What Is Wiki? (http://wiki.org/wiki.cgi?WhatIsWiki) for a discription of a Wiki.

I would contribute a couple of my favorite moorages and include directions, contact numbers, dock descriptions, etc...

Use the power of the web........

Hi Scott.

Right now the place for destination information is in the reviews section under "destinations".

We chose to use the reviews section because that software integrates with the forum and gallery software. One user ID. (the format still needs a bit of work though).

There are a number of challenges with a wiki. The biggest is managing the almost certain misuse of the tool.

As it is, we are continually fighting off spammers in the forums, porn bots registering as users and posting junk, and so on.

I don't know of a wiki at this point that would not require extensive monitoring to keep the crap out.
